The purpose of the Transport Group is to “Support the aim that all Pupils, Staff and Parents are provided with a safe environment for travel to and from all the three school sites”.
We do this by:
- Meeting with and lobbying Councillors and Council Officials
- Keeping abreast of relevant National and City-wide transport initiatives which have an impact on safe school journeys. e.g. 20 mph Speed Limit, Road closures around schools at start and end of school day
- Meeting with Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs) as required – Group of P6 ~ P7 Pupils
- Supporting Active Travel by the school community
- Identify sources of external funding for Active Travel support (e.g. bike and scooter racks)
- Conducting surveys of pupil’s transport methods
- Maintaining the School’s Travel Plan
