Classes are run by Bryan Robertson, an SFA qualified coach with 16 years experience, and Head Coach of SoccerStarts. Bryan believes in maximising the amount of ball touches children get within a session through repetition of kicking, passing, shooting, control and moves to beat players, all through various fun activities and with use of all six parts of the foot!
Who, When & Where
Friday Night Football runs at St Peter’s Primary on Friday evenings for Primary 1 and Primary 2 children. There will be three sessions 18:00 to 20:15pm with P1’s being in the earlier class(es).
The classes have a maximum of 16 and include basic skills and techniques. The children also have the opportunity in class to play mini games.
Cost: TBA
A child’s space is not guaranteed until payment is received. All payment is due PRIOR to clubs starting. Failure to do so could result in your child not being admitted in to the club.
Cheques are to be written to SMPC, envelopes marked ‘Friday Night Football’ & posted in the Clubs Box by the Janitor’s Office (Main School) or by Reception (Deanbank).
Parent Volunteers required: Parents are required to help for one or two sessions each term. Duties include signing the children in/out and being on hand in the hall should the coach require assistance.
All parent volunteers must be PVG registered with the SMPC. Please contact pvg@sm-pc.org for further details if you are not already registered with South Morningside Parent Council.
Refunds: Very occasionally classes need to be cancelled (e.g. instructor sickness). SMPC policy is that refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances at the individual club’s discretion as offering refunds when this happens involves a lot of work for relatively small amounts of money. If, after accepting & paying for a place, your child subsequently does not take the place / drops out / changes their mind, a refund will not be given.
Parents are kindly reminded that SMPC Clubs only operate thanks to a school parent who volunteers to act as Club Convenor & run the administrative side of the club. Parents are requested to respect the efforts of each Club Convenor.
